NEW YORK: Pakistan Tahreen-e-Insaf (PTI) Vice Chairman Shah Mahmood Qureshi said on Sunday that the party would run another movement against the government from August 7.
Addressing a ceremony here, he said that the campaign would not be against democracy but it would deal with corruption. He congratulated the elected members of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) and hoped that the coming elections would be transparent and fair.
He also rejected the news about him leaving the party and termed such information as rumors. Earlier, PTI Chairman Imran Khan had called a meeting of his party’s senior leadership at his residence Bani Gala in Islamabad.
In the meeting, the situation of the country’s affairs would be discussed. It was also expected that the schedule and strategy of protests against the government, which are likely to start on 7 August, would be decided. The preparation of those protests would also be checked in the meeting.
