Islamabad High Court (IHC) has directed Interior Ministry to decide the matter of US citizen Cynthia D Ritchie under the Pakistan People’s Party petition to deport her till July 15. Chief Justice of IHC Athar Minallah heard the PPP petition to deport the USA citizen over the expiry of her visa. On the Court questioning, Deputy Attorney General Tayyib Shah informed the court that respondents were called at the interior ministry on July 8 but nobody appeared on behalf of the petitioner while counsel of the US citizen in his appearance in the ministry has asked to give him time. The Deputy Attorney General said that we were ready to decide the matter lingered as the petitioner didn’t appear before the ministry. The PPP counsel, Latif Khosa said that we have submitted our case in the interior ministry. The court has instructed the interior ministry to decide the PPP petition regarding the USA citizen as per the law and adjourned the hearing till July 15.
