LAHORE: Due to heavy smog in the city, more than 70 flights i
ncluding both domestic and international were delayed at Allama Iqbal International Airport on Friday.
The flights were delayed for the fourth consecutive day and added to the inconvenience of many passengers and their relatives who then started at a protest at
the airport. Th
e protesters said that airport officials had told them that their flights would arrive and depart on time but when they reached
the airport, the truth could not be further from what they had been told. They also blamed
the administration’s lack of coordination with
the airlines for making matters worse.
Lahore ha
s been covered in smog since late
October and the further delays are expected in arrival and departure of flights.
