ISLAMABAD: The Anti Terrorism Court (ATC) has extended the judicial remand of persons accused in Dr Imran Farooq murder case for 14 days. According to reports, ATC Judge Kausar Abbas Zaidi took up the hearing of the case on Thursday. During the course of hearing of the case lawyer Zeeshan Cheema filed a bail plea. The judge Kausar Abbas Zaidi inquired from FIA’s Investigation Officer Shahzad Zafar that why a prosecutor was still not appointed for this case. The investigation officer said that names were sent to the interior ministry, but they rejected them. The court while expressing its displeasure demanded a clarification from the DG FIA regarding the delay. The judge remarked if the FIA is not serious about this case then it should not waste the court’s time. Later, the court extended the judicial remand of the three accused for 14 days and adjourned the hearing of the case till September 22.
