BAJAUR AGENCY: The tribal elders and members of peace committees of Salarzai tehsil here Thursday pledged to speed up their efforts to resolve local disputes through peaceful means in Bajaur Agency.
The elders made this important announcement while addressing a meeting held for reconciliation between two warring tribes of Salarzaitehisl. The ceremony was attended by a score of elders belonging to various tribes and areas of the agency besides senior officials of political administration and members of peace committees.
The dispute between two tribes of Salarzai was lasted for past several years, which left at least 10 persons dead and several others wounded from both sides. Malik Muhammad Yar Khan, Muhammad Ali Khan, Malik Hifzoor Jan, Malik Nasar Khan Malik ZiartGul, MlaikMursaleen Khan, Bajaur Agency Assistant Political Agent Muhammad Ali Khan addressed the function.
The elders pledged to accelerate their efforts to resolve all kinds of personal disputes for lasting peace in the agency and stressed the need for unity to achieve the desired objectives. Assistant Political Agent Muhammad Ali Khan said political administration was committed to address all kinds of disputes and enmity among tribal people imperative for peace and development of the agency. On this occasion, the elders announced complete ban on all kinds of firing and decided to impose huge fine against violators of this decision.
